HOW TO MANAGE CLAT AND BOARD EXAMS?
A question that many CLAT aspirants often ask is how to manage CLAT and Board exams simultaneously? The question gains its legitimacy as Class 12th is always considered the 'career determining year' (in most streams this is not true). But, honestly, it's not as tough as it might sound. It's just a mix of proper strategy and focus that would help you to give your best in both.
1. The first important consideration is out of the two, to which thing do YOU give more emphasis? This is clearly based on everyone's personal preference. For example, if you are clear that you want to pursue law, then you need not give a lot of emphasis on the boards. You just need a minimum of 45% if you belong to the general category and 40% in the SC/ST category. However, if you are unclear (which in most circumstances people are, including me) then it is better to give equal (close to equal) emphasis on both depending on how good your reading speed or how fast can you learn.
2. For CLAT 2023, since it is in December 2022, you can easily prepare for that by giving more importance to CLAT but that doesn't mean that you have to completely neglect your Class 12th till that time. Once the exam is done, you can solely focus on boards then.
3. The exact strategy is dependent on your strengths and weaknesses. For example, if you already have good interpretative and analytical skills, then you need not put a lot of emphasis on CLAT. On the other hand, if you can memorize fast, then you need not put a lot of effort into learning for your boards.
4. Another important thing to keep in mind, especially for the CBSE board examination is your answer writing skills. There are chances that if you neatly write the correct answer and also highlight the important points then you can get better marks than others. This is because the teacher's efforts are reduced in the former case, while in the latter she would search for the important points in the answer.
5. For boards do not keep everything before the exam days. It is arduously tough if you plan to learn everything in the preparatory holidays that you get for boards. You might be able to pass with that but will not end up getting a good percentage. Continue doing things in parts.
On a whole, make a strategy for yourself and stick to it. Ik it is the hardest of all but that's the only solution. But, this does not mean to stop taking breaks and having parties. You can reward yourself whenever you get excellent marks or whenever you feel low. Always remember, CLAT is not a race it is a marathon, you would have to continue running.
