CLAT- THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE AND DURING THE EXAM
This short blog will try to explain things to keep in mind before and during the exam. I have tried to keep it as short and crisp as possible.
(Caveat- All the advice is based on my personal experience as a CLAT 2021 aspirant who scored 104.75 marks and secured an AIR 67).
BEFORE THE EXAM-
1. ANXIETY IS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL TO CONCENTRATION-
CLAT being a reading-intensive exam requires a good amount of concentration. Take a chill pill and do not think about the consequences that might happen after the exam.
2. JUST CONSIDER CLAT AS ANOTHER MOCK-
CLAT should just be considered as another form of mock that you give every now and then. This will help you to reduce the anxiety and stress that the word EXAMINATION carries with it.
3. WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES AND CARRY ALL ESSENTIAL DOCS-
Please wear super comfy clothes. Also, one does not want to panic over stupid mistakes, and hence remember to carry your admit card and ID compulsorily. This has significant importance considering that many of you will be traveling kilometers away for your examination centers.
DURING EXAM-
1. DO NOT GET STUCK WITH QUESTION/ SECTION- Just remember that CLAT is a 120-minute test with 150 questions. You cannot afford to waste a lot of time on a single question. In case you get stuck on a question please do not take that on your ego and proceed to the next questions (this can happen especially in mathematics). You have to move on if that question seems to be unsolvable.
2. DO NOT BE OVER-CONFIDENT-
This advice is only for those students who tend to get overconfident after seeing some easy questions and then do not concentrate on the exam. If you are one of them, do not let this trait come in the exam.
3. DO NOT OVERTHINK WHEN MARKING AN OPTION-
CLAT is prepared in a manner that will have a mix of both easy and difficult questions. Obviously, there is no trick to segregate the two but please do not start overthinking every question. Some tough questions of CR or Legal might require that but most questions are simple enough and hence do not require a detailed analysis of each option. Do that only when you are too confused between the options.
In the end, I just want to tell you that I'm super proud of the fact that you all have come so far. The exam is right here. You would had an amazing yet tough preparation time but let me tell you that it is all worth it. Do not take any sort of mental pressure, anxiety, or tension now. Just stay calm.
