LAST MINUTE CLAT TIPS
As CLAT is scampering towards you, the pressure would be severe, schedules hectic and anxiety levels at their peak combined with restless nights, for both freshers and droppers alike. The fluctuations in the marks would be a constant source of an identity crisis. One starts doubting one's work, worth, and existence. But as a reassurance, this is normal as D-day comes closer. This article is written to remind you of some of the basic points that will strengthen your preparation henceforth.
Some clarifications in the very beginning- CLAT is given by approximately 70000 people with the Tier I NLUs providing approximately 500 seats which is a selection ratio of 140:1. This incomplete statistic appears to be blood-curdling. But out of the total registered students, approximately 8000 don't appear for the exam and another 8000 get discounted for the PG course. The remainder 53000 are the ones who appeared for the exam. Out of these, many aspirants, keep CLAT as one of the many alternatives that one can take as a career option. So most of the people who appear for the exam are actually casual exam takers who have not mentally, physically, and emotionally drained themselves (un)like you.
Here I give four major tips that are important for you to remember during the exam preparation and D-day:
1. Getting pressurized is normal- You need to understand that after preparing for months together it is normal to face anxiety issues and or be nervous or scared just before the examination. But remember that you have only 2 hours to prove to yourself (and not to the world) what is your real worth. Hence it is better to extract all the efforts by maximizing your output in those two hours.
2. Simulate exam-like conditions while giving mocks: Although mocks in themselves are a near to perfect way to learn and improve yourself, one can also mimic the ambiance. For example: give the mocks in the same time slot as CLAT will be in, sit on a chair and table instead of a bed, and time yourself.
3. CLAT is known for giving a bolt out of the blue- BE PREPARED- Expected the unexpected. Like in our examination 2021, the current affairs were not taken from the major world events but rather from unexpected events that did not catch the world's attention. Just remember that if a section is designed to be tough it would be so for all the aspirants. You would not be the only one drowning in the sea.
4. Go with the confidence that tumhara toh ho hi jaayega (at least you can clear the exam): The exam day is bound to give you anxiety and pressure and seeing others who appear confident and studying even till the last moment is bound to affect you. This pressure should be controlled by ignoring others. Just have the appropriate amount of confidence.
All these tips are given by someone who has undergone the same examination rigour as you for CLAT 2021. Hope to see you as my juniors this year at NLSIU.
