 A question that many CLAT aspirants often ask is how to manage CLAT and Board exams simultaneously? The question gains its legitimacy as Class 12th is always considered the 'career determining year' (in most streams this is not true). But, honestly, it's not as tough as it might sound. It's just a mix of proper strategy and focus that would help you to give your best in both.  1. The first important consideration is out of the two, to which thing do YOU  give more emphasis? This is clearly based on everyone's personal preference. For example, if you are clear that you want to pursue law, then you need not give a lot of emphasis on the boards. You just need a minimum of 45% if you belong to the general category and 40% in the SC/ST category. However, if you are unclear (which in most circumstances people are, including me) then it is better to give equal (close to equal) emphasis on both depending on how good your reading speed or how fast can you learn.  2. One cannot overemphasize the importance of this part in your CLAT preparation. In most cases, students continue to attempt the questions and mock but their marks remain static because they just do not know where they are going wrong. For example, in my case, I scored 70 (approx.) for more than two months because I just didn't know that I was doing something wrong. This was that I was not analysing my mistakes and after every mock repeating those same mistakes which led me to score almost the same marks in every mock.   So, here I present my tips on how to analyse a mock properly:  a) First, as soon as a mock is complete, sit down and write all the points that came up in your mind while solving a mock. For example, it could be that the Legal section was tough or the English section was very easy or you got stuck in some particular type of questions in all the passages. Most students do not give emphasis to this section under the approach chod bhi denge toh kya fark pdega. But to be honest it will create a lot of difference when the NLU selections take place. Even a 0.25 mark can lead you to get a better NLU. Since this is the smallest section (in terms of questions) you need not give a lot of time for the preparation but even if you practice questions weekly you can get a decent score.  1. It is important to bust a myth right in the beginning that maths questions can only be solved by those who have taken maths in their 11th and 12th. In reality, the questions that are asked are from your high school books and are not that tough.  2. Before solving questions ensure that you know the basics. It is better to make notes for formulas (for example mensuration) and revise them timely. 3. Most people have trouble solving this section because it's not about the questions but rather the practical application of the concepts that come up as a problem. The only solution to the problem at hand is to ANALYSE YOUR MISTAKES PROPERLY.  One thing is very clear, grasping concepts is not at all tough in logical reasoning. However, even after that most students score less than 10. It is for this reason that one has to bring attention to not just solving questions but also how to solve questions efficiently. Some important things to keep in mind-  1. Logical reasoning, like English, is a very heavy reading-oriented subject. This means that most passages will be difficult to understand. They might come from philosophy, science, sociology, economics, or current affairs. But unlike English where you could find most of the answers directly from the passage, in LR you would not find answers that easily, but rather it is more about what your understanding of the passage is.  2. HOW TO

This is believed to be an easy section as once you know the basics and practice enough number of questions you will be sorted. However, the major problem comes in when one has to eliminate two options. This blog will discuss the sources and how to tackle the elimination problem in detail.  1. SOURCES - For basics you can start with IPleaders. Although written by undergraduate law students (might have some mistakes), it is an excellent source for easily understanding the relevant topic at hand. It is very comprehensively written making sure that reading one long blog would be sufficient to grasp the basics. Also, it is freely accessible on Google making it a bonus point. Youtube videos can also be helpful for students who need a virtual teacher for an explanation.    2. SOLVING QUESTIONS - Once your basics on Torts, Contracts, Family Law, Constitutional Law, IPC, and bits about international law and property law (list not exhaustive) are clear you can then go on to start solving section

This section comprises 35 questions and is believed to be one of the most time-consuming sections for CLAT. This is because it genuinely requires a lot of time for reading and memorizing but once you know the correct sources and frame a proper schedule for yourself, half the work is sorted.
